Robert A. Welch Distinguished Chair in Chemistry
A gift from the Robert A. Welch Foundation in September 1998 created the chair, which is designed to encourage advancements in the field of chemistry in Texas.
Dr. Ray Baughman
- Professor of Chemistry
- Director of the Alan G. MacDiarmid NanoTech Institute
“This impact of our work largely reflects the fertile environment for creativity that exists at UT Dallas and so many dedicated and inspired students and colleagues of all ages who have made pivotal discoveries in collaborative research.”
Dr. Rudi Fasan
- Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry
- CPRIT Scholar in Cancer Research
“While we will continue to expand our current program, CPRIT funding will allow us to explore new research directions, including investigating the anti-cancer activity of compounds developed in our laboratory, also in collaboration with investigators at UT Southwestern Medical Center.”
Dr. Vladimir Gevorgyan
- Professor of Chemistry
“My research area involves uncovering new reactions in organic chemistry that will allow us to synthesize a broad range of organic molecules of practical importance in polymer and materials science, biology and medical applications.”
