James Bartlett Chair in Behavioral and Brain Sciences

The James Bartlett Chair in Behavioral and Brain Sciences was established by The University of Texas at Dallas and the estate of Dr. James Bartlett, who died in 2019. Bartlett was the Ashbel Smith Professor of cognitive neuroscience and cognitive psychology. His 44-year tenure at UTD encompassed many leadership roles, including serving as interim dean of the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences from 2015 to 2018. Described as “the perfect colleague,” Bartlett’s research focused on how people receive and retain nonverbal information.
